Alice in Wonderland

I thought I would share some of my work that I have created in the past two years. I spent most of yesterday clearing out my room, and discovered some of my GCSE Art work. This is a sculpture I created in Year 10, this kind of art could be seen as "Altered Art", and I was inspired by the story of Alice in Wonderland.

Here is the finished piece, and below are some close ups of the different sections.

I had a lot of fun creating this as at the time it was something completely new to me. However now, creating work like this has inspired the way I work now. Collage and sculpture are two of my favourite ways to create art.

Thanks for looking,

The Memory Project 2013

I am involved with something called 'The Memory Project'. The idea is that you draw or paint the portrait of a child and the orignal creation gets sent out to the child. This year the pictures are being sent to children in Haiti.

This website tells you all about the work of Ben Schumaker, who created the idea.

I am really proud to be part of a project like this, I really enjoyed doing the portrait too. Below is what I created using pen and ink.

Introduction to Click, Snap, Edit

Hi! My name is Megan, and I am completely new to blogging, I have been an avid reader of blogs for a while, but I thought giving it a go myself would be me having a go at something new. I am currently 17 and am doing my A levels, which includes Art (my favourite subject).

I love being inspired by visual elements such as art, but over the past couple of years I have gotten into photography, which allows me to capture things instantly. However this is only the start of things for me, editing is something I have always loved the idea of doing, but there is just so much you can do with Photoshop etc. nowadays, how you manipulate a picture is endless.

I will keep this post short and sweet, I am creating this blog to evidence my photography but also share it with a wider audience. I love hearing what people think of my work, and also learning new techniques that will help me progress with Photography even further.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, to start off with I've posted some of my photography from the past year and a half, enjoy!
